I have the Viper 5901 Remote Start/Keyless Entry/Alarm System on 2 of my vehicles, both of which manual transmission. I bought the Viper 5901 and had it installed at Best Buy. Viper Responder One Installation Manual. Viper 552 series remote start keyless entry system owner's guide (28 pages) Remote Starter Viper 4706V Owner's Manual. H1/4 WHITE/BLUE (-) ACTIVATION INPUT This input comes from the factory set to 1 activation pulse. This means that it is necessary to have 1 ground pulse on the white.

I bought a viper 4115v one button remote start with intentions to install myself. So far I have the main harness hooked up with all connections tested with a multimeter.

On the primary 9 pin harness, I have the black wire hooked to a solid ground and the white wire hooked to the running light switch. The rest are left unhooked.

On the remote start harness, I have the violet/white tach wire hooked to the Gm tach test port on the ignition coil. The brown wire is hooked to the brake switch, for now the rest are left unhooked.

Door lock harness is left unhooked for now, satellite harness is hooked up to the module as well as the valet switch.

Now I have a couple of questions regarding this unit, I tried to see if I could get the module to show any signs of life by trying to program some of the commands to it, but could not get the led to light at all.

My first question is do I need the neurtal safety switch and hood pin switch hooked up to test my progress so far with the install?

My second question is, are there any other wires that need to be hooked up to their appropriate on the primary 9 pin harness to test the remote start feature? This truck never had a factory alarm and im not sure what the activation input (white/blue) wire does. I read through some forums that it can be used for add on modules but im not so sure.

My third question is, does the satellite harness need to be hooked up for the remote start feature? Does that have anything to do with the phone app or is it the antennas for the remotes?

My fourth question is regarding how to set up the door lock feature when the time comes. Ive read that this truck has reverse polarity style door locks, Im completely unsure of how to hook up the module so it works with that style door lock.

My last question is, do I need that bitwriter to continue the installation? Its a non diesel truck, so as far as I know I dont need any of the features in there to program the module.

At the point of the installation where Im at right now, I couldnt get the led on the module to do anything, Id really like to be able to test my installation progress before getting so far in that I wont be able to nail down any wiring problems on my end. Im not sure if you have any wiring diagrams for this truck, but any help would be appreciated. Unfortunately I emailed viper customer service and after an unsavory 2 week wait for a reply, I got the cold shoulder because I'm not an authorized installer. I apologize if this shows up as a big block of text, I'm on mobile and will reformat when I can.
