It's been seven years since the first Dark Souls game launched on PS3 and Xbox 360, since then we've had Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin in 2014 and Dark Souls III: The Fire Fades Edition in 2016 along with multiple DLC packs and the recent remastered version of the original for current gen consoles. That means all three games are available on PS4 and Xbox One, so Bandai Namco is taking the opportunity to offer an easy trilogy pack and entice a few more sales.

As Eurogamer reports, it will be called the Dark Souls Trilogy and brings together all three games as well as all the DLC. That means Artorias of the Abyss from Dark Souls, Crown of the Sunken King, Crown of the Old Iron King, and Crown of the Ivory King from Dark Souls II, and Ashes of Ariandel and The Ringed City from Dark Souls III.

Even one of these games can demand your focus for weeks, if not months, so all three is quite the bundle of frustrating yet rewarding entertainment. Japan got the trilogy at the beginning of 2018, but it included an abundance of extras and cost an eye-watering $535. The western version is a much easier to stomach $79.99 and ships three discs in a steelbook casing on the Oct. 19 release date.

The only From Software game we have yet to see receive an update for current gen consoles is Demon's Souls, which Dark Souls is the spiritual successor of. It launched in 2009 on PS3 and that remains the only version available. Will that ever change?

We also can't forget that Switch owners are finally going to have a Dark Souls experience when the remastered first game launches later this year for $40.
