Crack Internet Cafe 4.9.5

My family of 4 had a wonderful time here! From the beginning we were welcomed by delicious homemade cookies and greeted by Mr. Pat (caretaker). The cabin was put together lovingly and it shows. Soooo comfortable and cozy! The creek behind the cabin and the outdoor space is amazing and relaxing. We never wanted to leave!

The Chinese government is cracking down on the number of unregistered Internet cafes because some users spread propaganda, slander, allow pornography, and allow underage users. Crack downs by Chinese Government Officials banned 17,488 Internet Cafes in 2002 and another 27,000 were banned in 2003.

The town is lovely and all the people whom we met that lived or worked there were super-friendly. It’s very small so plan ahead for your groceries if you will be cooking most meals (no large grocers here, just very basic items at the small stores). The Trading Post a couple doors down has great ice cream, sandwiches, soups, etc. when you don’t feel like cooking. Keep in mind they close at 8:00 and on Sundays though. And the bar across the street is worth a stop as well. 👍

The 30 min. hike up to the falls (Silver Falls I believe) was a fun way to spend the afternoon...great views and exercise.

The location is awesome being so close to the NE entrance of Yellowstone. We truly enjoyed driving through Lamar Valley each time we had to enter the park. It was our favorite section as we were mainly there for wildlife viewing.

Internet

Some may think it’s a con (we did not), since there is absolutely no cell phone service in Silvergate. Just FYI if that’s something you can’t live without. Our family enjoyed unplugging for the 5 days we were there!

I could go on and on...just can’t say enough positive things about the Chalet! We hope to return one day with friends and family in the larger lodge. ☺️
